This will be the first time to display the complete industrial chain of concrete and construction industry domestically. Prof Dai Xianming is President, ACCI. He was elected as President of the China Concrete Association in 1997 with yearly renewals of his term of office. He is the longest serving President in China national construction and related associations. In 2004, he was elected as Vice President of ACCI and in 2014 he was elected as President of ACCI. Prof Dai is the Dy Managing Director of the China North East Design Institute and is also the Chief Editor of China Concrete, the official publication of China Concrete Association. In 2008, he authored the China Concrete 20 Years Yearbook. Besides technical papers, Prof Dai has also delivered many keynote papers on the concrete industry outlook, trends and prospects.
Mr. Tan Wee Teck is Secretary General of ACCI. Amongst his more notable appointments include serving as Head of International Affairs Division of the Singapore Construction Industry Development Board, Director of Contracts, Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Corporation, Singapore; Planning and Programming Engineer with the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit Corporation and General Manager of Spandeck Engineering Singapore Pte Ltd. He also developed several training programmes for the World Bank and the UN Development Programme, to train senior government officials and enterprises from China from 1988 to 1994. Mr. Tan has also presented papers related to construction industry development, joint ventures and construction contracts in more than 10 countries since 1989. He was appointed as a Consultant for construction industry development by the Sri Lanka Institute for Construction Training and Development in 1994, under a World Bank funded Programme. He founded the Asian Concrete Construction Institute in 2001 with a few likeminded friends.
Dr. Tony Chi is Chairman, CAA Technologies PTE.LTD. He received a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota in the United States in 1965. In 1967, he graduated from Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and took “Precast Method” as a research direction. In 1981, he started his own business in Singapore to mass produce hollow precast slabs. He has over 50 years of experience in architecture, structure, bridge design and engineering management. In USA, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan( China), he has led projects including prefabricated buildings, factories and shopping malls so far, which are recognized as iconic projects in construction industry. Nowadays, he is not only an expert in precast but also an active promoter of China’s building industrialization.
Datuk Matthew Tee
Matthew Tee is President of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association (IFAWPCA), and the Immediate Past President of the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) and has served as President from 2012 to 2016. Previously, he served as a Board member of Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB Malaysia) from 2013 to 2016 and Construction Labor Exchange Centre Berhad (CLAB) from 2012 to 2016. At present, he is the Honorary Treasurer General of Malaysian Steel Structural Association (MSSA), the Council Member of the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) for term 2017-2019 and the President of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association (IFAWPCA). He was nominated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as a Member of National Science Council (NSC) for the term 2016-2017.
Mr. Pooba Mahalingam is the programme leader of Talent Asia Training and Consulting. He is the current President of the Insurance Law Association of Singapore (ILAS), as well as an active training facilitator with the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA). He is a professional engineer with over 20 years of work experience in construction, insurance and loss adjusting. He specialises mainly in construction, engineering, liability and property claims, and risk management work. Pooba is a well-known presenter on construction risks / claims handling. He is also ACTA-qualified and uses various active learning methods to share some of his complicated insurance claims scenarios to benefit the participants.
